It’s hard to believe that an action-horror game like Ghostwire: Tokyo has some fun crossover content hidden inside. But like another of Tango Gameworks’ titles, The Evil Within 2, there are cheeky references to other Bethesda-published games sprinkled throughout. In fact, this crossover content is a unique look for your character. Here is our Ghostwire: Tokyo how to get Fallout 4 outfits guide.
The Fallout 4 Vault Suit is an outfit that players can unlock in Ghostwire: Tokyo relatively early in the game by completing a side quest. Ghostwire: Tokyo is a game published by Bethesda Softworks, which is why players can unlock the Fallout 4 Vault Suit in the game. The Fallout series is one of the most recognizable titles that Bethesda has developed and published, and the Vault Suit is an item that represents the franchise as a whole. Although Akito won’t be able to equip a Pip-Boy 3000, the Fallout 4 Vault Suit fits perfectly into the game’s setting as he and KK try to end the catastrophic event ravaging Tokyo.
Fallout 4’s vault suit is purely cosmetic, but since outerwear doesn’t play a role in Akito’s defenses, players won’t have to worry about the consequences of equipping it. Only by leveling up in Ghostwire: Tokyo can players increase Akito’s health, allowing them to equip the outfit of their choice for the unlikely hero. Conversely, Fallout 4’s Vault Suit can help players increase Akito’s health, as it’s tied to a side quest in Chapter 2.
As Akito and KK make their way to the mall in Chapter 2, a phone booth outside the building will have a green icon indicating that a side quest is available. On the map, the search icon can also be found on the right side of the construction zone near the mall. Answer the phone to receive a new objective from Ed and start The Crimson Moon side quest. This quest can be more easily completed with some of Akito’s skills and advanced abilities unlocked in Ghostwire: Tokyo, so players may want to consider completing Chapter 2 before trying to get the Fallout 4 Vault Suit.
How To Complete ‘The Crimson Moon’ In Ghostwire: Tokyo
After receiving The Crimson Moon quest from Ed, players will need to grab a gadget from one of the lockers along the mall entrance. From the phone, turn right and walk no more than 15m to reach the corresponding locker and take the device. Akito will need to get to the top of three separate locations and scan the moon from rooftops to complete Ed’s investigation. These areas are marked on the map and can be climbed from scratch or reached with the Tengu advanced ability in Ghostwire: Tokyo.
Once all three locations have been scanned, return to the phone booth outside the mall to upload the data to Ed. This will automatically finish the side quest and reward players with the Fallout 4 Vault Suit. Additionally, Akito will also get the Ghostwear outfit, 5,000 Meika, and roughly 750 Spirits to exchange more XP in Ghostwire: Tokyo.
As for The Crimson Moon side quest itself, it’s no different than any other side quest in Ghostwire: Tokyo. Ghost hunter KK tech assistant Ed needs you to take some scans of the eerie red moon that has been hovering over the city ever since the massive ghost outbreak occurred. He must go to three locations marked on his map, climb to the highest point in each of them, and then scan the red moon with the provided smartwatch device.
But the biggest challenge with The Crimson Moon isn’t so much the difficulty of the combat as it is the navigation. One of the locations, an abandoned construction site, has a number of tough enemies, but the biggest challenge was trying to figure out how to get to the top. The second location, a high-rise office building, is a similar exercise in frustration. The easiest building to climb by far is the one represented by the smallest circle. For that, just walk around the perimeter of the building until you find a ladder and then climb to the top.
How to Get The Fallout 4 Vault Suit
To grab the suit, you will have to play a specific mission available during Chapter 3. You can start by answering the phone next to the Construction Labyrinth waypoint. Entitled Crimson Moon, the adventure reunites players with KK’s former partner Ed to get some lunar readings on the blood moon. To complete the quest, you’ll need to head to three locations, find an interactive quest marker, and scan the moon. The locations are marked by the three large green side quest circles found on the map.
Once the mission is complete and you have all three lunar readings, head back to the phone booth you initially contacted Ed on to finish the mission. Once you’re done, you’ll find the Fallout 4 Vault suit in your inventory. It’s located in the Complete Outfits tab of the Outfit section. You’ll also be able to equip the Ghostwear watch you used to measure the lunar readings.
