Here you will find all the information you need to get the most out of Swably Community Day in May 2021.
When is Swablu Community Day, how long does it last?
Swablu Community Day will take place on Saturday, May 15, starting at 11 a.m. local time. It takes the usual six hours for the entire event, with an additional two hours required to get the exclusive Altaria train (see below). The entire event ends at 5 p.m. local time, with the one bonus being valid until 7 p.m.
What are the Swablu Community Day Bonuses?
Here is the full list of bonuses players can enjoy during the event.
- Elevated Swablu Spwans in the wild
- Photo Bomb – Take 5 snapshots for more Swablu spawns

- 1/4 hatching distance for eggs that were placed in incubators during the event

Can Swablu be shiny on Community Day?
Yes, you can catch Shiny Swablu and Altaria during the event and the shiny odds are massively increased. If you play non-stop you should have a nice collection of Shiny Swablu, along with the candy it takes to evolve at least one into Shiny Altaria. We’ll give tips and tricks like you can find them in another guide. However, try to encounter as many as you can if you want one. This includes purchasing the Cotton-Winged Bird ticket as it offers more encounters.
Moonblast Altaria – “Is it worth it to evolve?”
Is it worth developing Swablu into Moonblast Altaria during or shortly after the event? For PvE raids, the answer is a resounding no, as Altaria isn’t powerful enough to be a solid counterattack for any of the tougher opponents. However, PvP in the GO Battle League is an entirely different answer.
Altaria hits a maximum CP level so Moonblast doesn’t change much for your Master or even Ultra teams. If you enjoy the Great League or the other cups that are capped at 1500 CP, Moonblast Altaria can be a great choice. Moonblast is an upgrade from Dazzling Gleam, Altaria’s best fairy-type attack to date. It does the same damage but costs less energy and has a 10% chance of dropping the opponent’s attack status.
If you play a lot of Great League or other low CP playlists, Moonblast Altaria has a nice fairy attacker for you. Having it as a second attack gives you more choices in your arsenal. If you miss something, you don’t have to be very sad. There are better options, so keep an eye out for our PvP guides to see if Moonblast Altaria ever tops one of the lists.
