Super Animal Royale is a fast-paced free-to-play game where cute characters fight in short firefights and only the strong survive. There is not much story for Super Animal Royale. Players are portrayed as genetically modified “super animals” fighting in an abandoned safari park called Super Animal World. However, there is a lot of cute magic in the game’s presentation, like the word-filled messages players receive when they die. Similarly, the music and art style of Super Animal Royale is simple and colourful, featuring cute character designs and hilarious background tracks that make the violent actions of these creatures even more eye-catching in their colour transformations.
Customization is king in Super Animal Royale. In addition to the full set of animal character skins, you can outfit your wrestler with different t-shirts, dresses, glasses, hats, and even your virtual melee weapon. This massive buffet of cosmetics is easily the best part of the game, as there are so many fun options to unlock.
The basic gameplay loop is incredibly simple. You will fall on the map with 63 other players, each of you scrambling to equip yourself with the best possible variety of tools of destruction scattered across the different areas of the map. The choice of weapons is surprisingly varied, from Gatling rifles to sniper rifles and crazier variants with an animal theme, such as throwable skunk tails that shoot poisonous gases. Matches don’t take long, and matchmaking is generally pretty quick. The stages are short, and the gas circle closes quickly, providing quick movement, even with vehicles that can be used as weapons, such as the hamster ball or giant emu. The waiting time for respawn is short, which changes the game’s dynamics a lot; since death is not so punishing, you end up not wasting time wasted accumulating loot, etc. So you are lighter and freer to hunt the other cute animals without worrying so much about killing or dying.

The Research Lab is where you unlock more cute and killer animals. Each match you play earns you an Animal DNA reward for a specific type of animal and Super Serum. Once you’ve collected enough serum and DNA for one type of animal, you can craft one of the family’s skins. These systems are great because while you’re working on improving your goal, you’re also working on other things. It’s a win-win!
You can play solo or in pairs against 64 players or play in teams of 4 people. With the second season, cross-play was introduced for teams, making the player audience even bigger.
Additional content via DLC and edits is paid but only aesthetically alters the player; there is no competitive advantage. Opinion
Super Animal Royale is very dynamic and fun. With a huge variety of weapons, characters, maps, skins and dances, after all, in a Battle Royale, the Dance of Victory is always the end goal. The mechanics of quick matches and very little waiting for respawn deliver a very cool dynamism, in which death doesn’t feel so punishing. Paid content only adds aesthetic content, which is beneficial to the player ecosystem, preventing the most rewarded from being the players who invest the most money. The game has menus and subtitles in Portuguese.
With cute animals and lots of variety, it’s a great choice for entry into Battle Royale games.
As with many Battle Royale titles, a player’s enjoyment of Super Animal Royale may ultimately boil down to how quickly they can handle the game’s simple mechanics – and how many near-instant deaths they are willing to incur to get to that point. Also, with its more animated graphics and shorter gameplay, I would recommend this game to newer audiences who are not as experienced as people who have played other more complicated Battle Royale games.
