Nora’s Choice Week 2 challenges

7 Min Read

Night wave is Warframe’s take on what a Battle Pass is. There are reward levels for collecting different XP thresholds. Most games with a Battle Pass system allow you to earn pass rewards by simply playing the game and passively earning more unlocks. However, in the case of Warframe, players will have to complete or repeat the presented challenges (or actions) with different XP values in order to advance.

You can unlock a new reward tier for every 10,000 reputation you earn. The challenges are reset every week to allow further progress. Here are this week’s challenges (August 8-15) and tips on how to complete them:

Weekly

  • Earth Fisherman – Catch 6 rare fish in the plains of Eidolon
  • Eximus Eliminator – Kill 30 Eximus
  • Prison Guard – Complete 3 capture missions
  • Saboteur – Complete 3 sabotage missions
  • Sanctuary Researcher – Complete 5 scans for Cephalon Simaris

Elite weekly

  • Elite Test Subject – Complete 8 zones of the Elite Sanctuary Onslaught
  • Eximus Executioner – Kill 100 Eximus

To complete each weekly act:

Earth fishermen

You can find the plains of Eidolon on Earth. From there you can take part in a free roam mission. I recommend playing alone to prevent other players from potentially interrupting your session. The rare fish in PoE are Murkrays, Norgs, Cuthols, and Glappids. Remember, you will need their specific bait in order to spawn them.

I also recommend fishing Murkray since they have the easiest bait to make. You must be rank 4 (sura) with the Ostron to receive the bait blueprint. Fortunately, in the Plains, you don’t have to worry about the time of day to specifically look for them. Use the Lanzo or Ebisu fishing spears. They only stab other spears and cause them to flee. If you don’t have really good eyesight bring some bright color or that too Oxylus Guardian with the Scan aquatic life forms Regulation mod.

Ideal Warframes for this challenge are Loki, Ash or Ivara for invisibility purposes. It prevents nearby grineers from getting aggressive and ruining your fishing session. Use volts unless you can handle some indicators that get in your way. His passive gathers a little more firepower per shot, and this carries over to spear fishing. This guarantees that you will catch a fish even if you don’t use the recommended ones.

Walk to this body of water all the way south of Hillside Ruin to find the best fishing spot in Murkray.

Eximus Eliminator and Eximus Executioner

Eximus units in Warframe are the beefed up variants of normal opponents. You can tell who they are by the red outlines they wear or the various skills they have. They could steal energy from you when they are a certain distance from you, blow up walls of fire, create a protective ice barrier for their allies, or inflict a shock or toxic debuff on you.

Eventually, if you play the game passively, you should unlock these two acts. However, if you want to get them done faster, I would recommend playing in the higher tier mission nodes, namely Endless Survival Missions. Alternatively, you can wait and see if there is an Eximus Stronghold failure mission.

Sanctuary explorer

To complete this act you will need the Object of the synthesis scanner. This can be purchased through any relay by visiting Cephalon Simaris. These differ from the Codex scanners because they can also scan your daily destinations.

The difference between a normal enemy and Simaris’ target is that they look similar to Eximus units, except that they are surrounded by a bold blue outline. They’ll also be more dramatic and annoying than your typical enemy unit. Synthesis targets tend to be less hostile, but more prone to run away and drop traps.

Cephalon Simaris has an additional piece of equipment called Kinetic siphon trapthat completely immobilizes a synthesis target and keeps it in the air for a few seconds. This is useful when dealing with hordes of enemies in your way or a smaller target. To get a full scan of a target, you need to scan the points on the target’s body. Upon completion, the enemy will begin to dissolve into orange pixels, which will give you reputation points at Cephalon Simaris. Do this 5 times with its specific daily goals. You can also complete this challenge if a friend has a different goal. Conquering a target counts for all players in the current game session.

Elite test person

Elite Sanctuary Rush the normal Sanctuary Onslaught is much more demanding. You are not allowed to spam certain skills within a certain period of time or they are blocked for a certain period of time. Enemies also spawn at higher levels, and map rotations are set for each run. This challenge doesn’t have to be completed in one go, but to get it out of the way faster and maximize the rewards, it’s best to give it a try. The best settings for this are a strong Reactive Storm Baruuk, a Saryn with range and strength, a Capacitance Volt, Maim Equinox or a Peacemaker Mesa. The name of the game is to go with a frame with high nuke potential.

The other acts on Nightwave this week are straightforward. Stay with the reset for the next week for more guidance on these challenges.
