If you want to get more Argosy submarine slots in Monster Hunter Rise, you will need to collect Wisplanterns and Boatshells to complete the culture exchange request. You can get more items from Argosy by completing this request. So it’s definitely worth it. The items you need to find are actually pretty easy to get, especially using some quests that you may have skipped. This is where you can find Wisplanterns and Boatshells in Monster Hunter Rise.
Where to find wisplanterns in Monster Hunter Rise
Wisplanterns are the rare variant of Firelanterns that can be found in the area of the shrine ruins. Just go on an expedition tour so that you can explore the region freely and collect materials without restrictions. Wisplanterns can be collected from the shimmering red berry plants that surround the ruins of the shrine.
If you have trouble finding the right gathering points, you can return to Kamura Village and take on the Roly-Poly Lanterns one-star quest. This is a collecting quest that will involve finding fire lanterns. All collection locations are marked on your map. Make a note of these locations and visit them again on an expedition tour to find the wisplanterns you need. The shimmering red berry plants are mostly in the northern part of the shrine ruins near areas 9-13 on the map.
Where to find boat shells
Boat shells are the rare variety of raft shells found in the Frost Island area. Visit the area on an expedition tour to collect the required amount with no restrictions. Boat shells can be taken from oyster beds in shallow water throughout the region.
If you’re having trouble finding the right rallying points, there is another task that will help you this time too. Return to Kamura Village and accept the two star quest “Plump and Juicy”. This is a collecting quest that involves raft shells. It shows you exactly the right collection locations on the map, just like the Fire Lantern Quest. Just like last time, make a note of these locations and return on an expedition tour so you can collect as much as you need. The oyster beds are mostly in the dark blue parts of the map north of Area 4 and above Area 5. You can find some near Area 10 as well.
Once you have all of the wisplanterns and boat shells you need, simply return to the Argosy trader in Kamura village to complete the culture exchange quest. This is just one of many requests in Monster Hunter Rise. So keep an eye out for more optional quests so you don’t miss out on potential upgrades.
Monster Hunter Rise is now available on Nintendo Switch. A PC version of the game is slated to be released in 2022.
