Scarlet Nexus – Is the Deluxe Edition worth it?

The countdown to Scarlet Nexus comes to an end quickly, to the excitement of many avid gamers. Soon we will be reunited with the main actors Kasane Randall and Yuito Sumeragi and their psychokinesis power sets.

With little else to do right now but soak up gameplay videos while waiting, let’s take some time to discuss the different versions of Scarlet Nexus. In addition to the Standard Edition, there is a Deluxe Edition. The alternate version is nothing new to gaming. It’s pretty common for a premium counterpart to be offered for those looking to get extra goodies for a slight increase in price.

The Scarlet Nexus Deluxe Edition isn’t the smallest price gap we’ve ever seen between standard and deluxe copies, and at $ 79.99, it’s $ 20 higher. Before deciding whether or not this price is acceptable, let’s go into detail about what’s included in the Scarlet Nexus Deluxe Edition.

Is the deluxe edition worth it?

Here’s what the $ 79.99 Scarlet Nexus Deluxe Edition includes:

  • The complete game
  • Combat clothing set -red-
  • Digital soundtrack
  • Digital artbook
  • Additional appendix “The Others”
  • 3x plug-ins to improve your statistics

The Deluxe Edition consists of a few digital goodies for those who enjoy reading game art while listening to the soundtrack and a few in-game items. If you want to get an edge right from the start, the added plug-ins will help improve the stats sooner. And if you prefer the color red, you will surely like the supplied Battle Attire Set -Red- in comparison to the mostly black standard clothing of the actors.

Since Scarlet Nexus does not have a Season Pass, the Deluxe Edition does not throw in any post-launch content, even if we were not aware of the existence of such planned content. Usually the higher price tag of deluxe editions is offset by the promise of additional gameplay either at launch or in the future, but that’s not the case here. What you see is what you get when you start. For an additional $ 20, that can be a tough sell.

The pre-order bonuses are entirely yours, regardless of whether you choose the standard or deluxe version. If you grab a copy before the game launches later this month, you will receive the following bonuses:

  • Additional attachment set “shoulder baki (11)”
  • Special combat clothing set -audio-
  • Additional appendix “Face Vision Seal”
  • Additional appendix “dream catcher”

Unless you really want a copy of the soundtrack and art book, the pre-order bonuses look better than the Deluxe Edition deals in my opinion. However, you need to appreciate the digital extras shown here for yourself.

Scarlet Nexus will be released on June 25th for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X | S.
