In the event that you just have a lot of time to play and like the asymmetrical shooter “Evolve” from publisher 2K Games, there will be a very special offer for you next weekend. Because with “Predator: Hunting Grounds” a new shooter is free and publicly playable for the first time, which uses at least one related concept in the game design.
The new title from the developers at IllFonic and publisher Sony will appear on April 24, 2020 for the PlayStation 4 and for the PC in the Epic Games Store. But before things really get going, there will be a free test weekend from Friday to Sunday (March 27th to 29th), where you can play into the shooter without obligation. The starting shot is expected in Europe at 5 p.m.
Hunt or be hunted
According to the motto “Hunt or Escape the Predator” you are part of a squad of elite soldiers or the Predator itself. Both parties naturally pursue fundamentally different goals during the individual games. While the squad cooperatively has to complete various missions on the map and can then possibly flee in a helicopter, the Predator has to prevent exactly that.
In the course of the game, all players unlock new equipment, weapons, skills and of course also optical adjustments to expand and individualize the game experience. Both on PlayStation 4 and in the Epic Games Store, the game, which many call “Evolve 2.0”, can be downloaded and tested free of charge at the weekend. Crossplay with the other platform should already be possible without any problems.
The announcement trailer for the PS4 version can be seen below. Improve your equipment, play different classes, complete your mission – if possible without being killed by the Predator, which is also getting stronger.
The previous teaser provides more context, detailing the type of capabilities you’ll be able to reach as the predator itself, as well as the allocation to the alien. You can change his helmet and even unlock new weapons as you progress.
The Predator: Hunting Grounds Trial Weekend starts Friday, March 27th and runs through Sunday, with the PlayStation Plus subscription required to participate.
