Another month has come and gone and that means it’s time for another Pokemon GO Community Day event. April Community Day focuses on fifth generation starter Snivy, but the event itself always features more than just the Pokemon. While another guide can read about what makes this Community Day a whole, this guide will focus solely on the latest Community Day box and whether or not it’s worth the cost.
Is the Community Day Box worth it?
Each Community Day not only has the free event that everyone can enjoy, but also some paid options that you may or may not buy. The first of these are the Community Day tickets, in this case the ‘Snivy in the Sunshine’ ticket. This ticket is only $ 0.99 so it’s hard to feel bad if you don’t have too much of it. The Community Day boxes, however, are a different story as they are much more expensive.
The Snivy Community Day Box costs 1,280 coins, which is just under $ 11 if you buy the 1,200 and 100 Pokécoins packs, respectively. This is almost eleven times more expensive than the ticket. So we’re going to break down what you’re getting and whether it’s actually worth it.
The Snivy Community Day Box contains 50x Ultra Balls, 4x Star Piece, 4x Mossy Lure Module and 1x Elite Charged TM. First, let’s price these out if you buy them yourself, even though only two of them are available in the game. Star Pieces cost 100 Pokécoins each, which would be 400 for four of them if bought separately. Mossy bait modules cost 200 Pokécoins each, which would mean for all 800 Pokécoins. If you add up the 800 and 400 there, you are only missing 80 coins of the entire bundle. That means you would technically only pay 80 Pokécoins for 50 Ultra Balls and an Elite ChargedTM, which in the end is a bargain.
The big thing with this Community Day Box is, as always, the Elite ChargedTM. These cannot be bought in-game at all and are quite rare to acquire. This is why Niantic puts them in these boxes because they know that people will only buy the box for this one, even if they don’t use the others at all. If you really want Elite Charged TMs it’s hard to say the box isn’t worth it as they’re so rare to get. However, that’s a lot of money if you only plan on using them. However, if you are actually using the other items in the box, this box is well worth the cost.
Don’t forget that the Snivy Community Day Box is only available for the event. So don’t forget to buy them during the event on Sunday April 11th.
