Rayquaza Raid Guide for March 2021

Rayquaza has made a couple of appearances in Pokémon GO, but this is another big weekend focused only on legendary raids. A couple of things make it unique, so we’ve broken down all of the information below.

When is Rayquaza Raid Weekend?

The Rayquaza Raid Weekend special event starts on Saturday, March 27th at 10:00 AM and ends on Sunday, March 28th at 8:00 PM, all local times. During these hours, the number of legendary raids should increase massively, with all or most of them including Rayquaza. And everyone you catch has a special exclusive move, see below.

How many players does it take to beat Rayquaza?

Despite his impressive looks and legendary status, Rayquaza is actually one of the easier raid bosses in Pokèmon GO. Two players with the above counters who are on a higher level can take it out. If you are best friends at or near level 40 and have your counters up, a team of two can win pretty easily. However, the more you have, the easier it gets. So try to work with at least four players if you’re not sure how much each will contribute.

How good is the Hurricane Exclusive Move?

Every Rayquaza caught during the raid weekend knows the hurricane attack. Is this a good step? A little bit, but not for the PvP players out there. The hurricane makes Rayquaza a powerful fly-type attacker. This can be useful for some PvE raids in Pokèmon GO. So if you don’t have one, then you might want to try catching some with high IV levels to turn them on. If you prefer PvP in the GO Battle League, Hurricane simply gives you a good attack to shield bait or use in other creative ways, but Rayquaza’s dragon attacks are too important to ignore.

Is Shiny Rayquaza available?

As one of the best Shinies in Pokèmon GO, Shiny Rayquaza is always a coveted award. Thankfully, it seems like we have another chance to catch some with this raid weekend. Shiny Rayquaza will be available and you can check out more tips and tricks on how to get one here.

And this is our Rayquaza raid guide with the best counters for March 2021 and the raid weekend event.
