Another Community day is here in Pokémon GOand this time maybe you could catch Shiny snivy. Yes, the April CD event is all about the smug looking weed type character whose alternate color scheme is a big part of the celebration. Players will have massively increased the shiny odds for this species on Sunday, but with all the options to catch one, many players don’t know what to focus on. To help, here’s how to get Shiny Snivy on Community Day in Pokémon GO.
How to get Shiny Snivy in Pokémon GO
A big part of Snivy Community Day in Pokémon GO is the hugely increased shiny odds, especially when combined with the increased spawn rate. The weed type character pops up everywhere you look, and if you run into them all, there’s a good chance you can get Shiny Snivy. However, this is not the only way, and there are a few ways to increase your chances even further.
For one, try to act quickly when you encounter Snivy in the wild. They appear and sometimes disappear quickly, especially if you use an incense (which lasts 3 hours of the 6 hour event). So tap on them and then either back off or use the quick snap method (tap, drag right and hold the Berry button, throw the ball and release, tap the screen and leave the encounter) when you want more candy. Those you have met before will be facing you so you know which ones you don’t have to tap again.
However, sometimes wild spawns aren’t enough to get more Shiny Snivy. So there are other methods. Let’s interpret them all including the best way we described them above.
- Meet Snivy in the wild
- Use an incense to increase spawns
- Make 5 photo bombs
- Take a snapshot of a Pokémon, then withdraw. Snivy should appear and repeat
- Complete the field research for Snivy Encounters
- Buy the Snivy in the Sunshine ticket and complete the special research quest
And that’s how to get Shiny Snivy on Community Day in Pokémon GO. Once you have a few, you can choose which ones to develop into Servine and Serperior, which only require 25 and 100 candies, respectively. Further information on the entire CD event can be found in our manual.
