The last Pokémon GO Community Day with Swablu, which took place in the middle of May, wasn’t that long ago, but on the first weekend in June it’s time for another one. The focus this time around has shifted to fan favorite Gible, which people have always tried to get more of into the game to eventually get its final evolution, Garchomp. That means that people really want to catch a lot of Gible on Community Day, but even more the shiny version that will be available too.
How to get Shiny Gible on Community Day
While Swablu himself was a normal / flying type, his development Altaria was part of the dragon type, which also carries over to the Pokémon of this month with the always very coveted Gible. This Dragon / Ground-type Pokémon was introduced in the fourth generation of games and has been in Pokémon GO for some time, but either as a rarer spawn or typically in raids.
As usual with most Community Days, Gible spawns most of it here on Sunday, June 6, between 11:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. local time. So there will certainly be no shortage of Gible during the event.
This is the first key to a shiny gible on Community Day because you just want to catch as many as you can. Whether you catch them in-game yourself or use a Poké Ball Plus to catch them, you should eventually come across Shinys by simply catching more.
If you want to increase your chances, there are a few ways you can do it too. These will be done in other ways, including the Special Research ‘Just A Nibble’ ticket which you will have to pay $ 0.99 to purchase. This gives you special research to explore with gible encounters that have increased brilliant odds. There’s no guarantee you’ll get a shiny from these, but the increased chances do.
There is also field research that you can purchase from PokéStops during the event that rewards you with Gible encounters. As with specialty research, this field research has increased chances of getting shiny, so always try to grab it during the event.
As you can see, there are several ways to get shiny gible during the Community Day event. While specialty research and fieldwork have increased the chances of winning, catching as many Gibles as possible is best and you will encounter at least one, if not several Shinys at some point during your Community Day experience. Good luck catching as many Shiny Gibles as you can on Pokémon Go’s Gible Community Day and choosing your best one to transform into a Shiny Garchomp!
