Oddworld: Soulstorm Update 1.13 Patch Notes

1.13 update has arrived for Oddworld: Storm of Souls and here is the full list of changes and fixes added in this patch.

As the team behind Oddworld: Soulstorm mentions and even jokes about it, the new 1.13 update is so big that they even had to skip a patch to get it out. The new patch contains tons of fixes, changes, and improvements for pretty much every area of ​​the game. The official patch notes have come out, so below are all the details that have been announced and shared with the public.

Level-specific bug fixes:

  • Fix for incorrect spawning of RPG Slig in yards that ends the descent
  • Fix for Mudokons teleporting to a small elevator in Escape
  • Fix for seeing fire through a platform in Hijack
  • Fix to make sure Quarma is set correctly for each level
  • Fix on a specific stone saw in Necrum
  • Fixed to prevent Abe from being locked up if he crouched down to a checkpoint and then stood up in Slig Barracks
  • Several fixes for jumps outside of the game world
  • Dying after pressing the last button in yards no longer locks the game
  • Mudokons no longer get stuck at the bottom of the destructible tower in the Necrum Mines
  • Adjustments to the location of mines in Necrum Mines to allow easier interaction with a door
  • The destruction of the bridge in ruins does not leave a piece of wooden bridge on the ground
  • The stone saws in Necrum no longer drift apart in timing
  • Fix for the intro cutscene in Necrum Mines

Abe-related bug fixes:

  • Improvements to Abe’s reverse gear when aiming stealth
  • Improvements to haptic feedback on PlayStation 5 throughout the game
  • Players can now change their throw range when using a mouse on PC by adjusting the target distance or using the scroll wheel
  • Abe no longer automatically ducks when pushing against a rammer
  • Abe no longer dies touching an inactive stomper
  • Abe will no longer be tapped when respawning after being tapped
  • Improvements to the controls on possession balls
  • Abe is now properly crushed under a slammed door if an NPC has pulled the lever on that door
  • Abe now animates correctly when opening a locked locker
  • Improvements to monkey bars
  • Improvements to Abe’s movement code for rolling and lifting
  • Fixed a bug that caused Abe to roll indefinitely in Sanctum

AI / NPC bug fixes:

  • Fixed Sligs appearing randomly frozen in Eye Of The Storm
  • Sligs no longer have a delayed reaction to bouncing candy sugar
  • Sligs will now correctly raise the alert level when hit with a nonlethal object
  • Sligs will no longer shoot through possessed Sligs if they’re too close to an edge
  • Mudokon hats no longer pop off when told to muds to wait and then follow suit
  • Mudokons no longer chatter when killed
  • The Sligs in Ruins now keep firing at the Mudokons after waking up from the knockout
  • Sick mud will no longer get sick if Abe heals before speaking to them
  • Mudokons no longer throw into the distance at Sligs far away in the Feeco Depot
  • Mudokons now react correctly to closing slam doors
  • Mudokons no longer stop following Abe for a brief second when he double jumps
  • Dead slogs no longer distort their meshes when hit

Other fixes:

  • The effects of royal jelly now correctly persist after a checkpoint
  • Mines now restore their spinning components after a checkpoint
  • Improvements to the GameSpeak control settings on the PC
  • The PlayStation 5 light bar is now enabled by default for new players
  • Texture resolution improvements on PlayStation 4
  • Further fixes on invisible, closed slam doors (especially in slig barracks)
  • Mortar shells (in Blimp and Sorrow Valley) have been adjusted for difficulty and now land exactly where Abe would have been when they were fired, making them more predictable and avoidable
  • Subtitle improvements
  • Improvements to the voiceover in the last fight final
  • Items from boxes no longer fall through the floor after Abe reappears in The Blimp
  • Corrections to the Gameplay Master Trophy Tro
  • Master Volume added to the audio settings
  • Greeter audio improvements
  • Welding torches now take into account the “Reduce Strobing” accessibility option
  • Additions to the credits
  • Clouds of smoke (from steam grids or smoke bombs, for example) have reduced highlights when they pick up light from Slig gunfire
  • Fixed certain pickups not being present after respawning in The Funicular
