There are a good number of fish you can find in Monster Hunter Rise, many of them are exclusive to certain locations, with Speartun One that you may need later in the game. This giant marine animal is almost identical to a real marlin and is found in lakes or ponds where you can fish. We’ll see exactly where at the bottom of this guide.
How and where to find Speartuna in Monster Hunter Rise
Each map in Monster Hunter Rise has a number of spots and locations to fish your heart in. Each of these cards offers different or even similar fish to catch. Speartuna is actually not a rare fish, but it does have some specific places where it can be caught. The easiest to get to is the pile in the Lava Caverns 3 region. Check the thumbnail or picture below to see exactly where the hunter is.
This pond is on the left side of Region 3 and is very easy to spot because of the number of colored fish there. For this particular reason it is also very easy to identify the Speartuna, as it is by far the largest fish there and has a spear-like “nose”. Approach the pond, click the “A” button to start fishing, and cast your bait as close to it as possible. Immediately after consuming the bait, you will find that your bait is under the water that splashes around. If so, click “A” again to pull the line with the fish attached to it back towards you.
If this is the first time you miss Speartuna, don’t worry, just keep throwing the bait until you get as many as you need and you should be ready to go. Please note that this pond has been tested in HR versions of the Lava Caverns maps, so it is not clear whether the fish can also be found in low rank. You won’t really need it before you hit HR, however, so you should definitely try your luck on HR expeditions or quests.
