Monster Hunter has never had the largest maps in the game, but opted for a number of separate areas that are relatively small overall. While they can be considered smaller compared to some other games, there is still a lot to navigate when hunting down each monster. The latest Monster Hunter Rise keeps that trend going, with a number of different areas to visit starting with just one base camp. However, this is not the only camp you can have as it is possible to have other subcamps that allow you to quickly travel between them or change our occupancy. Not only are these given to you, but this guide will tell you how to unlock more of them as you play Monster Hunter Rise.
How to unlock more sub-camps
Every quest in Monster Hunter Rise starts in the base camp of the respective area. Unlocking additional sub-camps can make your life hunting monsters and finding items a lot easier. Because of this, it is very important to unlock sub-camps whenever you can.
There’s no really set way just to say that you can do this to find the additional sub-stores. Instead, you’ll have to search every nook and cranny you come across in each area to find secret areas. Some of these are pretty easy to find while others have to look a little bit. Not only will these new sub-camps definitely be right in front of you, but you’ll need to keep your eyes peeled as well.
Once you’ve found one of these sub-repositories, you’ll know it is one when you see the on-screen message shown in the image above: “A suitable location for a sub-repository has been found.” From there, you can complete the quest you are on or just return from the quest if all you are looking for is the sub-camp.
When you are back in the village, speak to the merchant Kagero, who will talk about the sub-camp found. He will mention that he will need the materials to build the sub-warehouse and give you a list of what he will need. If you come across this after completing a series of quests in this area, there is a good chance that you already have all of the materials you need. If you do, just speak to him again and hand in the materials to unlock the new sub-warehouse in that area.
