Every hunter will want one Mizutsune plate sometime in Monster Hunter RiseNevertheless, plates are among the rarest drops in the game. You will have to hunt Mizutsune a few times if you plan to snag one (unless you are absolutely lucky). That said, you want to get high-ranking hunts if you want to increase your chances.
Mizutsune plates are easier to obtain from high-level hunts in Monster Hunter Rise.
Mizutsune Plate is used in a handful of crafting recipes, including the Mizutsune armor set and weapons. This is a very desirable item, but its drop rate isn’t exactly the greatest. You can technically try to farm Mizutsune Plate in low ranked hunts, but your best odds are in high ranked hunts.
You have to achieve 4 star hub quest hunts to unlock High Rank, which is available around the same time as the Mizutsune low rank battle. So while you can go out of your way to get these from low rank, you’d better wait until you start farming high rank hunts if you want to be efficient. Yes, the low rank Mizutsune gear can help you enter the high rank more easily, but there are simpler armor sets that work just as well (Somnacanth springs to mind).
That said, if you want to farm Mizutsune Plate in Monster Hunter Rise, you will want to hunt Mizutsune. That goes without saying, but what about the drop rates? High Rank has the best drop rates, but they’re still not fantastic. In summary, prioritize high level hunts, break off parts of Mizutsune, and the drop rate is the same between catching and carving.
- Mizutsune Plate Low Rank
- Target rewards: 2%
- Capture Rewards: 3%
- Broken Part Reward: 3% (head), 2% (tail)
- Carvings: 1% (body), 3% (tail)
- Materials dropped: 1%
- Mizutsune Plate High Rank
- Target rewards: 5%
- Capture Rewards: 7%
- Broken Parts Reward: 7% (head), 5% (tail)
- Carvings: 3% (body), 7% (tail)
- Materials dropped: 3%
As you can see, Mizutsune Plate is rare even at high rank. Don’t be surprised if it takes multiple hunts to catch just one. But that’s what Monster Hunter Rise is all about, isn’t it? Go on the hunt and don’t forget to break Mizutsune’s pieces to increase your chances!
