2 Min Read

Of the many blocks available in Minecraft, one of the most versatile can be found anywhere as we look for clay. Clay is the basis for some of the building blocks in the game, including one of the blocks, which are available in all dyeable colors. So, knowing where to find this stuff will increase your building opportunities dramatically

Where can I find clay

Simply put, clusters of clay typically spawn underwater. You can find some of this just by looking around the bottom of rivers and ponds, there won’t be much, but there will likely be quite a bit. However, if you want to find a lot more of it, you need to check out places like swamps and the ocean floor. You can find most of it there, although it can be a little tricky to get there. There are some enchantments that can help you mine underwater that will be of great use to you in collecting clay. If you actually break the block, it won’t drop by itself and will instead drop four pieces of clay on the floor. However, these can be made into normal clay blocks again, or you can simply gather them up as normal with Silk Touch.

Crafting with clay

Clay has two main uses, brick and terracotta, both of which involve melting the block in some way. You can get bricks by melting down the smaller clay bundles that you get when you normally break the block. This will give you brick items that you can use to make the rest of the brick blocks. And you can get terracotta by melting the clay block yourself. At this point you can just surround a piece of paint with the terracotta to stain it like any other colored block.

Minecraft is now available for PC, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and mobile devices.
