Microsoft’s announcement, which is no longer valid, Minecraft Dungeons is no longer coming in April. This was confirmed by those responsible in a current press release and a freshly published FAQ section on the game. But don’t worry, you don’t stay in uncertainty. Because a new release date is included, accordingly, on May 26, 2020, it should be so far that you can cooperatively experience a completely new Minecraft story campaign with up to four players in the usual iconic block optics.
Corona is to blame again
The reason for the comparatively spontaneous shift of Minecraft dungeons should hardly amaze anyone anymore. As the message says, the coronavirus COVID-19 is responsible for not being able to keep to the actual schedule. Due to the required home office, which is to ensure the health and safety of the team, the shift is inevitable.
They want to offer the players the best possible experience for the launch, which is why they hope that after the release, the delay will be correct. As of now, Minecraft Dungeons is scheduled to be released on May 26th, 2020, for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One, as well as being available in the Xbox Game Pass.
Minecraft Dungeons will be available in two versions. So you can secure the Standard Edition for 19.99 euros or alternatively buy the Hero Edition for 29.99 euros. Anyone who chooses the larger alternative will receive a so-called Hero Pass. But don’t panic, it’s not a season pass. You will also receive a heroic cape, two skins for your character, and a little chicken as an animal friend and companion. In addition, Hero Edition buyers get the first two DLC packs for free.
